Change of Address
Welcome to the Change of Address help module
This page has been created to help you with any queries or questions you may have when using the application to report a change of address to your Council.
If you are not a user of the Council's application then you will have to search for your property before starting the process, once your property has been found you can notify of a vacation or moving in date as appropriate.
On screen validation will prompt you where you have failed to enter a piece of information required therefore you are only able to move forward by using the 'Next>' button when all necessary information has been collected from you.
Mandatory fields within the process are marked with an asterisk (*). Where you see this symbol you are required to complete the field before continuing.
Once all the necessary information has been collected you will have an option to have an email sent as a receipt of your transaction. Please take advantage of this functionality as it will come in handy to have a record of your change in case it is called upon or needed to refer back to at a later date.
A list of possible error messages and an explanation for each can be found below. If you have any issues that cannot be resolved then please contact your Council Tax section.
Q. Why have I received the error message 'Please note that an error occurred whilst emailing your receipt.'
A. You may have incorrectly entered your email address; this also may be a temporary issue with the Council's mail server. It is not possible to re-enter or to re-send the email without completing the move again.

Q. Why have I received the error message 'There was an error when trying to submit your change of address details. Please contact the Council Tax department.'
A. The details of your move have NOT been passed to the Council Tax department, you can try submitting your move at a later date or contacting the Council directly to discuss the details, informing them that the on-line notification failed.
